We are all on a journey along a path made by our mistakes and our choices. Along the way we pick up companions and if we are lucky enough some of those companions stick with us till the bitter end. But what defines the journey is the walking and the momentary pauses we take to experience the world around us. The moving and the slowing down, but never fully stopping, we stop when we can walk no more. And then another journey starts in a completely different world.
Trials and tribulations, suffering, laughter, happiness, tears and failures, and love along with everything we experience are all part of the journey and all part of our growth. If we define ourselves too rigidly at intervals in our journey then we make it harder for ourselves to grow. So it is best to understand when to let the water flow and when to build a dam. The dance that we must all learn to do.
Sadness, deep lamentable sadness, that is part of the journey as well. But it must be a lingering part, we must not let it consume us. It can form into something very destructible. Something from which can flow a parallel journey into the abyss. Where our mind, souls, and body spirals into deep internal darkness, and swallows the very light out of our purpose. We must always guard against it.
But for now. As you lay your head on your pillow, to rest a while, so you may rejoin your journey. Know that as long as you stay true to your path, destination is really not that important.
Goodnight dear friends, and as always, may your tomorrow be better than your yesterday.
Life before death, journey before destination…
Or even simpler - life without pain is like food without spice, do not live bland
