Deny the Climate Change Agenda
Denying 'Climate Change Agenda' does not mean denying the 'existence of climate change', 'the need for a cleaner planet', or 'the need for better management of our resources'.
I think we can do with a cleaner planet, where the production of energy is sustainable and not dependant on limited resources. Live harmoniously with nature with sensible conservation and have better waste management systems in place.
I don't link that with any political movement or have dogmatic believes towards it, neither do I think it is a good idea to make the lives of countless difficult or unbearable in order to 'appear good' and 'sanctimonious' about it.
We have to get there, but we have to pave our way towards it. And each country has to take different routes, with different timelines, as it suits the needs of their citizens and their ability to achieve those goals without putting their citizens at economic risk.
Staying consistent with not being dependent on limited resources and adding to that criteria resources dependent on external factors not in our control - I don't think over reliance on current renewables is either a good idea or one where energy production can be guaranteed. It is very weather dependent.
At the current moment, the best way is nuclear, along with renewables and fossil fuels till we can come up with better solutions. Till we can come up with better solutions without harming the most vulnerable in our world. Their lives are not a viable sacrifice you can make just so that you feel good about yourself at your cocktail parties.
Away from energy production the things we can control, is to stop polluting our seas with plastic and over fishing. Converting carbon dioxide into graphene. Build coral reefs. Reduce monocrop agriculture. And create better food waste management systems so we don't overproduce to either overconsume or waste in abundance. Stop single use plastics.
When it comes to meat consumption - stop attacking it. Promote better farming methods and regulations. Meat is the best and most effective source of protein that humans can have and we need it. However, meat should not be so cheap that we overfarm and produce it just for a lot of it can be discarded when not bought in stores. That to me is a greater sin - killing an animal and not even consume it.
These are some of my positions around the changing world, needs the world of be more cleaner and less to waste less by wanting less. For me these topics are not left wing or right wing - they are human wing topics. And we need to be able to discuss them out of the political sphere where bad faith actors are just trying to manipulate us for their benefit. Meaningful and sensible conservation of our planet, and living harmoniously with nature should not be as much of a controversial topic as it has been made out to be.
