A clear sign that the established got scared of the unity they saw on 1st of June. So in walks Farage, to spearhead the establishment, and try to take away the reason from people to demand some serious change by starting a cultural movement. Why else would a guy who thought American politics was more important than British only few weeks ago, come back? People need to start seeing his motives for what they are now. There is nothing within Reform's policies that illustrate any real change. Just a business as usual under a different guise. These are my initial thoughts on it.
What does he really know about Clacton? How many times has he actually been over there? What does he know about the issues of the people within Clacton, or wider Essex? Probably nothing. And don’t forget these is the same guy who called the working class people attending Tommy Robinson’s rally as Tattooed thugs. Well, there are a lot of “Tattooed Thugs” in Clacton.
And also. Clacton on Sea, has a lot of local regional issues, that need resolving. People there deserve someone who would actually care for their needs first, rather than someone who doesn't even know them and will only use the constituency as a springboard for his establishment ambitions.
Politicians would do what they want to do, to keep their control over us. We need to concentrate more on a serious cultural movement right now which can eventually have its aims delivered via a well oiled political engine.
It wasn’t that long ago he issued the following statement:
Read it. Read that statement again.
And then go and read Reform’s policies. There is nothing there that represents real change. Is this another angle now to win enough seats and try forming a coalition with the Tories, and if his plan works then in the following election cycle he becomes Tory Leader? Who knows.
I don’t really trust him anymore to do what is necessary. I only trust him to keep things as usual, maintain the status quo, by only adding a little bit more spice.
But who knows as I said, maybe I will be proven wrong. Maybe that will alleviate the need for the cultural movement to be bothered about the political for a while, and just concentrate about the cultural. Which also would be ideal in my point of view. We will just have to see.
Main issue facing Britain: Immigration
Reform Party Immigration Policy: Net Migration - one in one out
Farage becomes Party Leader: People cheer and celebrate.
Main issue of Immigration: Doesn't really get resolved.
One in one out. That is what the alternative offers. And that is what the public gets. Go ahead, disagree with me. You just don't get it, because you are so starved for a vision. Reactionaries like Reform will not bring a real lasting change. They are only Classical Liberal at best. Islam will stay, maybe if they even come into power which they probably won't as Farage might end up doing a deal with Tories and merging Reform with them. But even if Reform comes into power, they will at best get rid of only the known Islamist extremists. Islam will lay low for a few more years, and then appear again, to bite your generations down the line.
And guess what, it will be even harder then to deal with this problem. Because the continued migration would have changed the demographic way more for it to be challenged then.
A bit pessimistic? Yes. Solution is not in a political movement but in a cultural movement. And when it comes to these elections, I will be voting for either an independent or a party that offers a generational pause on immigration. Depending on who stands in my region.
Momus I was just thinking along much the same lines. I don't think 1st June was the only reason for him to flip flop but it may be a factor.
The path towards Nationalism is really what Reform voters actually want.
Farage could be 'controlled opposition ' to channel Nationalist and Patriots fervour down a path supporting a pseudo Conservative party.
When the time comes Farage could step up to be Tory leader.
He is not the Messiah .
Our new cultural resistance movement MUST CONTINUE. We must not be deflected by this. We must continue yo build strength.
Politics will not save this country because Politicians caused this mess. Only the ordinary people can save us now.
"We will not back down"
Yes Momus I just read your comments again and I entirely agree. You have hit the nail on the head. I had just made much the same comments to my wife.
Of course it may simply be that Farage knows he had really pissed off his supporters and let them down, and also perhaps he may not now have a job if Trump ends up in jail.
I prefer to put my support behind honest people who have the courage to fight for this country. Sideline the media , side line the bloody Parliament. I know we are on the right track. Praise Tommy and keep your powder dry !
