It is one of those "Peter Hitchens is probably right" weeks for me. We will see what happens on the 4th of July. But I think so, a lot of us are living in our own bubbles. And each bubble being unknowing of each other or of itself as well at times. I have a feeling the majority of the country is more inline with the Tory lite and Labour partial woke mentality.
This is why the silent majority remains silent, because they either don't care or agree with the establishment on most things. They might want change but only we much. As much as it doesn't overly disrupt their daily lives or have them portrayed as bad people.
This is also the reason why during the lockdowns you only saw a vocal minority fighting against the restrictions. Or a minority raising awareness against or protesting against the Muslim rape gangs while the majority just didn't engage or didn't want to know. We get the impression that the majority is against it but that's because we take this impression in isolation and think those isolated pockets of people actually represent the whole. And that is on either side of the argument.
The main reason I think for such sentimentality is that the majority of people are unaware of the underlaying issues and have no context to these issues and no willingness to obtain context. They are happy watching their shows, reality TV, footie, and living life. And to be honest, as it should be. However, not in troubled times.
It is either the people who have nothing left to lose, or the ones who have enough so they are financially secured, that are mobilised against such things. But the middle of it all. The middle class. Our new liberal metropolitan elite. The one that created the red tape and enjoys the power of red tapes it gives them over the upper and working class. That class of people are very much with the establishment and are the establishment now. They will not mobilise against any adverse issues, unless it hits them directly. They mobilised against Brexit, and they still bang on about it. Why? Because there is a major issue with freedom of movement that hits them deeply. Oh the bloody airport queues. The inhumanity of it all. It is not their kids being abused and raped by illegal migrants, or their neighbourhoods being blighted by the increase crimes, and lack of employment opportunities.
A lot of people tell me, don't worry. People are waking up. It's happening. I think not at a quick enough rate to stop what's coming. They will wake up, but when it's too late and too hard to reverse. It is almost as if no matter what we do, we have to go through hell to understand the benefits of heaven.
What do you see here above? People will day 15.3% Reform Party, that is great. Sometimes they are even at 21%. That means we are making a difference. Yes, it is making a difference. But I also see another side of it. As was point out by one of the people who commented on my Twitter post. Something I had been thinking about - which actually brought upon this mood to begin with. I see, a 57.1% of the population aligned on various spectrum of the left, and 21% of the population aligned with liberalism masked as conservatism with Tories. That is a combined total of 78.1% of the population. A resounding majority. And so I say. The majority of population is a spectrum of liberalism, and a minority is conservative, which might be rising but a minority still.
And if you try to force the case what will happen then? Because there are extremes on both left and right waiting for their chance.
Maybe I am being overly despondent. But that is how I feel currently. Next 10-15 years or perhaps more will be utter hell. Progressively. It will start off well, and everyone will be bought into the idea. Hey Labour isn't that bad. Look at all the stuff they are doing. And then it will come crashing. I feel very jaded. We are going to go through a whole process that could be easily avoided if we didn't neglect our national, social, and personal responsibilities. Take it as you will. But that is how I currently feel.
Yes Mo you are right to feel jaded.
I feel like shaking folk and shouting "Wake up ! The wolf is scratching at the door"
Complacency. Apathy. Ignorance.
And when the wolf does bite they will be indignant " Hang on ! This isn't fair".
Too late.
Who was the Dickens character who was always in confident expectation that something will turn up ?
That's about the best reaction we will get from the majority.
So Mo are you in agreement with me yet that only a people's outright rebellion against Parliament is the only hope we have ?
