Maybe one of the flaws of a democracy based on political party system especially where there are really only two like in America is its inability to fully engage in trade offs in terms of social and economic policies over its need to get re-elected in the following election cycle which is always shorter than any singular significant trade off to be able to manifest its turnover cycle.
So, you are constantly in that loop of prioritising your own popularity over the long term benefits to the country. I believe Elon Musk’s and Donald Trump’s relationship was set to a downward trajectory, the moment Trump said that he would want to stand in the next elections. That set the tone that all of a sudden his personal legacy and the painful process America needs to sustain its long term legacy now potentially had competing priorities.
This bill has been set out by Trump's administration, with the Congress given just 2 days to read through it before voting on it, increasing the spending at a time with America needs to tighten her belt and go through the necessary pains for the betterment of future generations. Very strange to see, and perhaps the motivation behind it we will know in the years to come.
However, what we do know that this infighting is the last thing which America and the wider West needed. This is something that stops Britain from developing a strong coalition on the political right as well. And it stops from real progress happening when it comes to improving social and economical problems of the country.
Some might say, Elon Musk is maybe taking a very brave stance. He will make many enemies on the right by standing up to Trump and going against this Bill. He is putting himself in the line of fire and behind him many politicians within the Republican party can voice their concerns as well without taking direct hits. But at the same time I also think that these things should be robustly debated and discussed between the two behind closed doors. It is not a good luck and the left will prey on it.
Others might say that he doesn’t really understand diplomacy, and maybe being a bit childish with his approach. Or has drunk some sort of libertarian conspiracy kool-aid with such posts in retaliation. Playing a game of fake news against each other:
Elon’s response to above:
This is a very bad look and it is extremely disappointing to see. Did we all venerate the Americans a bit too much and a bit too quickly? Where they always incapable of acting maturely like adults and leading the West in the days ahead? Should be finally drop the notion of a collective West and instead focus more on our individual countries and concentrate on the fight to revive them primarily? Was this bound to happen when a nation is not connected spiritually? I believe the last one is highly important.
All centrists and liberals, mainly focused on economics, devoid of any spiritual connection with the lands they belong to make similar mistakes. This is why the West, left or right is in such a mess.
Everyone wants to achieve the ultimate instantaneously while not engaging in necessary suffering for fear of discomfort and inconvenience.
In other news, here in the UK, Reform Party’s Chairman quit his post stating that getting Reform elected is a not a good use of his time. This comes after his tiff about the new Reform Party MP’s call to ban Burka and Halal slaughter. What does that tell you of his original intention of joining Reform then? To further the Muslim agenda, and why did Farage let him in and make him a prominent figure within the party?
This is something that Trump, Farage, or any other Western leader needs to understand about Muslims:
If you want to solve the Islam problem, then you cannot include Muslims - of whichever spectrum of religiosity or political leaning - within your strategy, policy, and decision making process. This is a mistake which the West has been making time and again.
Falling into the moderate Muslim narrative trap. It doesn't work. They will revert to type. Either for religious, social, or political reasons. They will not control or fix extremism within their rank, they will only subdue it at best temporarily for it to pop up its ugly head down the road.
You cannot solve the Islam problem as long as you make yourself engage in trade with Middle East for fossil fuels and investment. And make yourself dependent on their generosity while exalting the UAE as a golden city. This is trap that both Trump and Farage fall under.
And, something they need to understand if they want to fix the problems within their countries:
You cannot depend on economics alone. Actually, for most part you have to go against economical benefits to fix the cultural problems first. Take the economic hit, the bitter pill, to save your native population from replacement and erasure. Without them there is no native culture, and without culture the economy is pointless - it would then be just the management of International Refugee Centres divided by geographical administrative codes.
