Immigration in Britain | Situation Out of Hand
I hate that people have made immigration into such a political issue to create illogical dichotomies of no immigration at all and the whole 8 billion people can come live on this tiny island.
I also find it bemusing that people, those who think themselves as righteous, can go on saying oh how can you be against immigration since you are an immigrant yourself? This is what's being levied against someone like Suella Braverman as well, from time to time. It is actually somewhat racist to think that a person is only allowed to think or act a certain way, as prescribed by the 'good people', because of the colour of their skin or their background.
You need a strong homogenous and dominant national culture to override any sub-cultures or foreign cultures coming into your country, to maintain the essence of your country intact. This would be the same no matter which country it is.
Ethnic minorities can think logically, we are not just bound by emotions like most of the current new left. We are not all radicals. Uncontrolled immigration is a strain on resources and in higher numbers it breaks down communities and their sense of belonging. That would happen whether you do it in England or in India. Apart from that, undocumented illegal migrants are a huge safety concern for everyone and it should be the primary focus of all MPs regardless of their political affiliation.
Many ethnic minorities also know how people abuse the system. I was a legal immigrant myself into this country back in 2010, not long ago. People (other immigrants especially those from Pakistan & Bangladesh) would talk about how they can pretend to be gay and get their residency applications fast tracked, I met some who had been living here illegally for a long time being hidden by other immigrant communities and also being helped by certain lawyers, how some would pay European women £8-10k to pretend to be their wife so they can get permanent residency and then citizenship in 5 years, how lawyers were helping make fake claims for their safety so they can get asylum approved - these people were well prepared and they were being helped by the immigrant communities and lawyers out of these communities. These are not harmless incidents or activities. This is a problem.
Our system has faults and it needs to be fixed. We cannot allow others to abuse it, no matter for what reason. The reasons are besides the point. Pretty soon, the whole of England will be turned into what has happened with London and Birmingham etc. Hardly feels like it is English anymore. And not because of racial aspect, because the national culture is no longer dominant in these areas which stokes division. This is not the England that was before, afraid and unable to prosecute criminals because it might create a cultural backlash. Unable to protect the vulnerable girls in our communities because it might disrupt community sentiments with a certain group of people. People going in hiding after criticizing a medieval thinking incompatible religion in Islam. People going in hiding for protecting their own shops from thieves. Unable to stop knife crime because it won't be good for race relations. Police officers, politicians, football players kneeling - frankly the whole country has done a lot of kneeling and look where it has got us. Unable to fly your own flag, be proud of your country and heritage, without being called a racist.
Pull yourselves together and think about this a bit logically. We cannot give refuge to everyone in this world. We should not have to give refuge to anyone, and anyone that we do decide to give refuge to we are doing them a favour because we have no obligation to the woes of the rest of the world. We cannot be responsible for the foreign governments' mismanagement of their resources and mistreatment of their people.
4.2 million children in all of UK are living in poverty as of 2021-22 data, that is 29% of all UK children. That figure alone should jolt people into accepting and declaring that we must first look after our own, before trying to add more pressure on resources and more misery in this country. But nobody seems to care about that or even concerned about it. New research from Shelter shows at least 271,000 people are recorded as homeless in England, including 123,000 children. New NHS data indicates that over 7 million people are on waiting lists for specialist clinical care or surgery. 92% of appointments require waits of up to 46.2 weeks. These are not sustainable numbers, we do not have a magic money tree as well. Everyone is asking for more funding but there isn't enough.
Just a snipet. 2021/22 gov received a total of £230bn in income taxes & £161bn in NI taxes, and other income sources (Like VAT, Corporation Tax, other small direct and indirect taxes etc) making receipts to £918bn. Total managed expenditure was £1,040bn, bringing public sector net borrowing to £122bn in deficit. Health and Welfare takes the biggest chunk out. Health £217bn, and Welfare £194bn - this is not sustainable. We need to manage our resources better, and we can't do that if we keep adding additional pressures.
Diversity of any kind on its own is not a strength. Diversity of thought in a system that keeps the discussion of differences civil , and makes the most out of different ways of thinking while keeping a national core unity, is a strength. Racial diversity is irrelevant in that scenario for me. Understand the facts of our current situation. Unless we want to all live in misery, we need to face the reality. This is an existential problem we are facing now. Those coming in huge numbers on our shores illegally, do not love our country, they love our resources. This is the stuff that can break and destroy countries. We need to come to our senses and stop being over emotional, trying to score political points, on this topic. Let's find solutions together because this is a problem that we all should be concerned with.
That much should have been clear when people from Britain went to join the Islamist Jihadis of ISIS a while back, and now the open acceptance and normalisation of Jew hatred on our streets should open our eyes more and more.
In addition to this I will say, whatever policies we take for resolving immigration problem in this country, should contain the following 10 points:
1. Perhaps it is time to consider, ending dual citizenships. You are either a full fledge citizen of this country and this alone or you are not. You can have indefinite residence dependent on criteria but not citizenship if you hold one of another country.
2. Welfare benefits should not be extended to or at least have minimum extension to non-citizens, including those with indefinite/permanent residencies.
3. Only citizens should be allowed to participate in local and national votes.
4. Citizenship test and other requirement like language competency need to be a lot more rigorous than it is currently.
5. Non-citizens should have to pay a higher NI tax rate to access healthcare system.
6. Any non-citizen who commits a serious crime in this country should be deported straight away with a no return blacklist, which they can appeal against after a considerable time period, after they have been tried in court.
7. Zero acceptance of illegal migration
8. Heavy limitations on asylum, no asylum seeker accepted if already passed through a safe country where asylum was granted or application in process.
9. A generation gap on almost all immigration, and after that or during as required, only immigration on point based system with respect to the market gaps needed to be filled.
10. Home Office to be broken up, and a separate immigration taskforce to be developed. One of their function being crackdown on illegal migrants with the active assistance from military.
Although in conclusion I would say that the more a government makes its people dependent on itself, the more docile and obedient those people become. When the majority wants such a life of co-dependency there is very little you can do to shake them out of it without causing massive shock to their system.
So no, I am not sure if things will change here in Britain, unless there is a mentality shift. To want to achieve more than mediocrity. To be proud of the history, heritage and traditions, with acknowledging the darker and shameful moments but not being enslaved by them. Yes, pun was very much intended.
This country seems to have lost its purpose, and its confidence in itself. It can be a strength for good, a stalwart of the West once again but I don't know if it has enough people left who are willing to stand up for their own, first and foremost.
