Britain is failing the youth in more than one way
I have lived in Chelmsford in Essex for a while now since pre-Boriswave pre-Covid pre-property price hikes, and recently moved out but still go there a lot for work and other reasons. But I have lived now in Essex for 15 years.
Most of the shops we used to have some old timers and then mostly teenagers and young adults. During school and uni breaks you would have more them as extra staff in shops because of busy summer season. They make some money in their breaks and the shops and restaurants and pubs get extra help they need.
Overall it was fine, it gave the kids some work experience and connected them back to their area. But now, I am not even exaggerating, most of the shops are just filled with middle-aged Indians and other South Asians who can't speak English properly, always talking to each other in their regional languages, many with very bad personal hygiene, making women feel uncomfortable, living 2 to a family in single apartments, like what in the hell is actually going on here? Things were already bad with excessive and mass immigration especially of low skilled labour but this Boriswave has really made things even worse.
I really think many of them have to be deported back, low skill low paid jobs burden on the system, not needed here, off they go. Sorry, but Indian's population and socioeconomic problems are not Britain's responsibility, especially since they became independent. And along with them I think it would be good to deport Boris Johnson and his wife to India as well. See how they like it.
How many other places is it happening? This seems more of an infestation in the counties around London, and most in Essex. Between 2021 and 2024, Indians accounted for roughly 24% of all non-EU arrivals and about 19% of total immigration to the UK across all nationalities, approximately 850,000 Indian nationals arrived to migrate long-term to the UK, making India the single most common country of origin for new arrivals. In the year ending December 2025, Indian nationals received 555,890 visitor visas and 95,231 sponsored study visas for the UK, leading all nationalities in study permits, worker extensions, and visitor numbers. These numbers are absolutely insane for a country struggling with immigration numbers as it is.
I am somewhat of a learning and development specialist in my day job, along with the other hats I wear or have worn before. One of the things that give me absolute joy is seeing the youth develop, grow, and succeed in life. If any younger person comes to me for help I try to go above and beyond in helping them grow, learn, and development themselves. I am pretty sure if I wasn’t in my current day job I probably would have been a teacher. Because developing youth and helping them succeed ensures the future good health of any nation. And you want to see younger generations succeed where you perhaps failed as well. You don’t want them making the same mistakes or missing opportunities while understanding that there are things they need to experience for themselves also and learn to make mistakes and fail but always picking themselves up. But everything the consecutive British governments have done over a few decades has been at the detriment of their future generations. It is really infuriating to watch. You are taking away connection to their nation, to their people, and to their place in life away from them, and forcing them to live in a dystopian run-down disney reality.
We need to train the youth of this country, increase the quota, to fill market gaps rather than just adding in immigrants who have nothing but economical incentives to come here. No social or cultural connection or affinity. That is a disastrous strategy. That doesn’t mean the low skilled or even mid skilled jobs should just go to immigrants as well. We don’t determine for kids beforehand what they want to do when they grow up. They need time to figure it out for themselves, they need to understand through work at these jobs where there is low risk to company for mistakes and failure what they want to do in life, not all of them want or have the capacity to be at high skilled jobs. So we also need to build, like we used to have here, respect and viability for all skill level jobs. All jobs are supposed to be for the variety of people of the nation. You need a multi-skilled population with varied capability and needs. And when it comes to retail, it may be considered as low skill, but shopkeeping is a historically respectable job. That shouldn’t just go to a random middle aged Indian to be exploited by some multinational corporation.
We need to do things right. We need to do things right for the youth of this nation and for the future. Otherwise, everything that is meant to be British will be lost forever, and be left with just a hollow meaningless slogan atop some hybrid kebab/turkish barber shop. We need responsible governance.
A well written article and absolutely fair and says what needs to said - but that is as far it can go.
It is just one effect of the destruction and indeed degradation forced upon our nation by mass third world immigration.
Lucy White has just put out a video explaining why the white British are actually a very definite global minority and this calling of imported third worlders a "minority" is a complete farce.
There are over 250 million Pakistanis and Nigerians in their home countries and over a billion Indians.
There are only about 50 million white native British.
In 40 years time Pakistan, Nigeria and India will still be home to their ethnic peoples.
What will have happened in Britain by then ?
Can anyone point to any city or town in the indian sub continent or in Africa where whites are in the majority today?
Is there an equivalent of Birmingham, Leicester or London there?
Where is the argument in the "colonisation" blame levelled against Britain ?
And the justification for what Kemi termed "The Empire coming home" ?
The native youth don't stand a chance but it is just part of the overall disaster that has has been caused by the handing over of Britain to foreigners.
As the parent of a 21 year old lad who's just left university, I totally endorse everything you say here, Momus. My boy will do ok, but many of his friends are really struggling to find even menial work, despite getting good degrees.
