Memory of Lost Friendship
I took this picture when I was in Szczecin recently. Drinking some dark beer in the sun. I don't know why but it connected me to something else. Simple lights hanging overhead in an outside seating area of a pub. I focused on it, well not on it. But on a memory. Or a feeling of many memories to be more precise.
Friends gathering and talking nonsense in the late hours of the evening till night. Nonsense that meant everything and yet nothing. Nonsense that made one laugh. And the absence of which made one cry, silently and without tears.
And then I began to wonder about the many gatherings that had been happening at that very spot. Between many other friends. And many different couples. Laugh and laughter. Smiles and giggles. And all of a sudden, the world didn't seem so dark after all. Life made sense again. The purpose of it in full view.
