Pack for the full journey, not just the pit stop.
I have far more trust in Rupert Lowe than any other current MP. The trust is obviously not implicit but conditional. I think it is slightly misguided or some being impatient saying that he either doesn't do policy or doesn't understand the importance of it. His initiative, Restore Britain, needs to be given the appropriate time to involve a variety of people and come to its own. And given the fact that he has actually had business and run them successfully gives me a lot more confidence in him and his ability to create a team than in others who have created and run nothing of any significance before becoming politicians.
And it is not about him, so people need to stop making it about him. The public need to be brought out of their childish ways and be brought into the reality, and also get them out of the personality cult follower behaviour. The public needs to become better informed themselves, and not just on what events have happened or are happening. But also, how they are governed and what are the most effective ways of bringing about change.
That sort of movement takes time, and you can't expect on day dot for them to be producing policies when the political landscape and the relationship of the public with that political landscape is changing so much. And for this reason along with others, I also don't think a new party is the right idea. At least a new political party which are purporting to take over the whole nation is a right idea because that is not going to happen, and will just create further divisions. A new political party that intends to be a pressure group party, and has intentions of let's say taking 30/70 seats at best, is a different thing. Because that can work as a very effective pressure group in parliament if its better coordinated than the 4/5 ever changing numbers of Reform.
I also see a lot of people have picked up this mantra of they want to see policy and not just talk, when they don't even know what a policy would look like. Before writing up a policy, you have to first define the purpose, scope it out a bit, do your literature review and research, engage the possible stakeholders which in this case would be the public so get their feedback, and after that process you draft a policy.
Identifying needs, gathering information, drafting the policy, consulting which is the stage of engagement with possible stakeholders although certain levels of engagement can be done on the offset as well, and review. And if in a position to implement then do that, and then review again. It is not done in isolation.
So, you really have to go through the process. And what Restore Britain are talking about with their app is in my opinion a smart move of gathering stakeholders/members opinions, feedback, engagement as part of this process that will shape the policies. This is a really good way of doing it, and the preferred way of doing it. Public policies are not meant to be drafted and written up in complete isolation. And they are not done in this way. All levels of government, local or central, do focus groups and other public engagement exercises that you just never hear about, before a policy is produced.
If you combine a restorative movement, with something like Restore Britain (given that it goes on to fulfil its promise), and a public education initiative that looks at all matters of things including but not exclusive to understanding historical events and figures, governance and policy, how the political system works, how the tax system works, access to basic workplace competency training and education etc etc etc, then I think you have a winning combination. Arm the public with the knowledge, invest in making more winners in society, while creating a platform that can take over a political party eventually - that combines both ends of the job needed. And hopefully in the middle we can also have some form or level of a faith based restoration that can link these two elements even neatly to bring about the actual change needed.
Stoking up anger and hatred, replaying old videos of ethnic and faith based confrontations, constantly echoing the outrage meter and dialling it up all the time, and keeping people in the state of anxiety is not going to give way to cooler heads prevailing and doing what's necessary. It is just going to ignite an already volatile situation at a time when no one has a concrete plan laid out and doesn't have the majority across the board agreement from the public for any such plan or leadership of such a movement. It is not a sensible thing to do and I am not favour of things that will further endanger the lives of the British public. We need a long lasting change that completely changes the course of this country to the better, we don't need a short lived disruptive civil unrest that destroys the lives of many and ends us up in a worse situation than now. Any ill thought out move may result in total victory for the enemies within.
So, as discussed in my last piece here. The one out of pure frustration and titled as such. We have a long road ahead of us. And it is not going to smooth. And most importantly, it will different people to do different things, most likely very differently from each other, to have an overall net positive effect.
Out of Pure Frustration !
I think I am almost ready to step away from all and any political party or movement. There is no unity, and I see a lot of amateurism from many corners, not all, but from enough. And many people of extreme opinions trying to push their own nefarious agendas, you just don't know who to trust.
Although, I have started noticing something which I really feel the need to clear up before going any further with my continued commentary on our current times. I am friends with a variety of people, some I agree with and some I have disagreements with. But none is my keeper. And if anyone thinks that I have to explicitly agree with someone otherwise I am not part of their tribe, then I was never in their tribe to begin with. Because that is not how I operate. I am my own person and I have my own mind. This is how I have always been. And if any said friend doesn’t want to communicate with me anymore because I am critical of them then again that person wasn’t really my friend to begin with.
The other thing which I want to make abundantly clear is that I am not an activist. I think I have talked about this before even when the whole Quran burning thing came about. Different people have different methods. I am not a shoot in the dark activist, I rarely go to rallies, and I rarely ever give speeches. It is not my modus operandi and I don’t think I would be effective being something I am not. I won’t be any good to anyone doing something of that sort. I know some people are just followers, or trying to get a bit of fame, build their own brand, so they will jump on to whatever new thing is happening. Be part of movements and give speeches at rallies, to get their name out there, but I do not have any such inclinations. I am not out there to make a name for myself - there are better ways to do such things in my opinion as well. So, don’t expect things from me that I am not offering as a person. Although such things are likely to change if desperate times come knocking and my services are required in a different capacity.
Are we beyond the point of no return?
I share my thoughts on the current political and social situation within Britain, where we are headed, and what might be needed to fix matters.
The last thing I wanted to discuss today was the most volatile situation that we find ourselves today in. The whole country ready to ignite. The situation in Epping could be a pivotal point of gaining support from all sides of the political spectrum within Essex to get these illegals out. It should be allowed to naturally develop by the locals and not hijacked by others. It won't have the same effect otherwise.
The reason why I am saying this is because a period of combustible civil unrest is only waiting a spark. Some might say that it is exactly what might be needed. I would say don't go about lighting it up unless you have a plan in place for what follows next. And I don't think anyone has a proper plan in place which means people will suffer while the ignitors look for notoriety.
And I am not talking about any particular personality as such, I am talking in general. Anyone who intends to be a part of it should go with the view of being a part of it and not overtaking it for their own agenda. And also should be aware of what their involvement can result into.
Many people have talked about civil wars and maybe that is what we need. Many have been talking about the need for a revolt. And I have been saying the same thing that I am going to say now for the past 4/5 years since the covid times. Revolution without a clear plan and a clear leadership structure will be absolutely disastrous. It will set us back even more. Even with the best of plans and leadership structure with clear objections it has every potential to be disastrous but without it there is no hope. And if it all burns down then we all burn with it. This is not me being cautious, this is me saying, do not let your own personal ego of wanting to play the hero overtake the need to save people. It is an important thing to understand and take actions accordingly.
