I wrote this as a response to your piece from yesterday but due to work hadn't the opportunity to post it. The subject matter is relevant to this post also.

A considerable obstacle to political change in this country is voter apathy, particularly among the working class. In part this issues from the knowledge that a good many politicians view the average working man with contempt. Elsewhere, this issues from the misconception that the state of the nation will not plummet into the chaos of a banana republic, whatever party takes the reins of government.

George Orwell's 'Coming Up for Air' and the Old Testament Book of Amos are instructive in these matters. Ironically, had the working man more faith in the system and were the system to listen to him, your residency would not have been possible in 2010 (if I am incorrect with the year, apologies). In the wake of 7/7/2005 all migration from the Muslim world would have been stopped dead if the average Englishman's wishes were valued by politicians. A loss for us as a nation in your not being here but a net gain in our cultural and physical survival.

I have written a number of short pieces on all these subjects. Charles is a contemporary Herod Antipas, the son of a monarch and inheritor of a political institution which sold their subjects and national assets to foreign interests. It may well be that we will see a sort of tetrarchy in the next fifty years, a dismantling of the UK and England into statelettes and the onset of kinetic warfare. Learn a martial art and how to use a firearm. If you cannot home school then reinforce in the minds of your children that much of the history they learn is false and the literature they are lead to read is trash. Have them read the classics.

As absurd as it seems, I feel that as this country will become rapidly much poorer, local theatre and spectacle may be the media through which a conservation of our cultural narrative will occur. This is something I am working on at the moment.
