All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players !
This is all for show. Part of the negotiations. That Putin might have asked from Trump as well. Make Zelenskyy look bad and destroy his hero image. Or Zelenskyy tried to do to either try reduce Trump’s support and get a better deal, or show his people why he couldn’t get a better deal. Otherwise all of this could have been done in private. But I bet it will very much please specific Trump base. The same one who was promised actual Epstein files but were happy with choreographed binders.
Here is a warning for Reform though. British public has a very different view and perspective of this whole Ukraine/Russia conflict. Playing the Trump card will not work. Rightly or wrongly, the majority of Conservative and Reform members support Ukraine. So if they want to keep gaining public support they need tread this line carefully. Apart from the political blowback or gain, there is also a matter of actual human lives being sacrificed for the machinations of others. So, tread carefully, any prospective right wing party in Britain. Do not narrow your appeal to please American audience.
No foreign person or country will care about you more than your own. So stop looking for external saviours, and stop looking to be led by other countries. Be your own and work in your national interests first and foremost.
This is one of my problems with the current model of Reform as well. With Farage constantly trying to beg American leadership for help and support. Why. If you didn't alienate your own you wouldn't need to do it. And if you get help from US, will you be able to say no to any of their demands if you get power here? I doubt it.
And it has nothing to do with whether Trump is right or wrong in his approach. For the most part I agree with him. But very rightly he will put the interests of his country first. This is the attitude Britain needs to adopt, not copy as an America First model, but Britain First model.
As it should be. While we have a leader of the insurgent party so attends American campaigns like a fanboy. I am sorry, but if Canada can put up a defiant and strong image while not being hostile to America, then Britain can and should be doing it with more authority. Stop being subservient to other countries, even your strongest allies.
