The West is lost without Christianity. People are constantly seeking false prophets. And destroying their lives in the process. I say this as a non-Christian. I do not see any other way to fix the society, in the shortest amount of time without Christianity.
It is very clear that people in majority do not have either the desire or the capacity to think on their own and come up with the best solutions for moral and social predicaments. I am not even sure it is possible for anyone to do it as well across all subjects resulting in the best possible outcome for themselves and the wider society, on their own, regardless of capacity or capability. You cannot hold all points into consideration at the same time. So, you need a set of collective wisdom, that has been thought upon and tried & tested over time, to give you a basic operating framework. A set of guiding principles. And to keep you orientated towards the good.
This is my conclusion as I see it. Christianity is far more important than your silly childish tantrums and ridicule, if you start thinking about things beyond yourself.
But you cannot be rigid with it, and you cannot force it upon people because then you lose all its value. It is needed to set certain boundaries so that we can have the required comfortable and uncomfortable conversations within it. The successful conclusions leading from such conversations can either contract or expand the boundaries of scope. But we need those operating boundaries to begin with. This is my considered thought on this topic so far. Whether you like it or not. There is more at stake over here than considerations given to your particular sensibilities or experiences.
