“Not All People are the Same: An Essay in Discernment”
In an age when Western elites insist that all peoples and cultures are essentially interchangeable, Momus Najmi delivers a blunt, historically grounded rebuttal. Drawing on the internal conflicts of South Asia with an emphasis on the 1971 genocide and mass rape that split Pakistan from Bangladesh, the long-standing practice of bacha bazi in Afghanistan, honour killings, jirga (tribal courts) "justice", and the progressive Islamisation of Pakistani law; he shows how profound differences in values, behaviour, and social norms persist both within a nation and between different nations.
Najmi argues that these differences are not superficial or easily erased by goodwill or policy. Mass migration without rigorous selection or assimilation does not produce harmonious multiculturalism but instead it creates parallel societies with eroded social trust, and rising tensions; examples of which can be seen from grooming gangs and honour-based abuse in Britain to the quiet expansion of foreign legal and moral codes. He contrasts this with the distinctive moral evolution of British culture, illustrated by the long campaign that abolished the slave trade and slavery itself across the Empire. Not all people are the same, and not all evolve their societies in similar ways.
