If you give oxygen to anon online cranks trying to play the edgelord roles because of their eternal victimhood mentality and loser attitudes which are unable to self reflect on their own personal and social failings, as a movement wishing to bring social and political change.
I think this is a wise framing. The tendency to feel that the left, the right, pretty much everyone else is the worst people ever is not helpful. Somehow we need to decide what 'worst ever' really is - racial cleansing and communist totalitarianism would be my short list, with forever wars as a loose third place - and oppose those vigorously while not wasting vitriol on things we might find unpleasant but that are not 'worst ever'.
I'm a member of the SDP, Momus, but I'm liking the direction that Homeland are heading in, especially now Steve Laws has gone. Pete has been busy fighting the nutcases you're referring to off all day.
I think that SDP need to get more robust on their immigration/remigration policies.
I would be very cautious of them. They are not what they appear to be. I have had meetings with SDP leadership this week, trust me when I say it, there is more to come in the coming months.
Homeland party has a problem top down not just bottom up. Be very wary.
I would've agreed with you wholeheartedly before Steve Laws went. Now I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt in the light of the posts on Pete's timeline over the last few days. Let's see.
